Microsoft Officially Ends Windows 7 Support Today 14th January 2019 - Adieu Windows 7

Let me paraphrase by saying "I will be the one to miss Windows 7 OS more than anybody in this world"....lol. Is indeed unfortunate, the product that we have been using, loved, accustomed to, for the past 10 years will be rendered worthless as of today 14th January 2020. And unfortunately for me, today is also my birthday...Ding Ding Ding.

Tech Giants, Microsoft has officially ended Windows 7 supports today. Earlier in March 2019, Microsoft rolled out an update to Windows 7 that notifies existing users about the end of the support.

What does this mean and what does it mean for those still using Windows 7 OS on their PCs?

It simply means that Microsoft will no longer provide technical support to Windows 7 users. Any computer(s) and other devices running the operating system will no longer be able to receive official software updates or critical security patches anymore. The company has recommended that users with systems running Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 10 to avoid security risks.

But if you are a business or Café and you still rely on Windows 7 Professional, you can opt-in to Extended Security Updates which provide supplemental Windows 7 supports till January 2023.

Microsoft’s end of support date means that Windows 7 users will no longer receive security updates, and the company wants consumers to upgrade to Windows 10 PCs instead. Though I still have reservation on that so called Windows 10.

What are the dangers those using Windows 7 will face?

1. You are exposed to hackers and malicious attackers once security updates cease.
2. You are exposed to Malware infections as most Anti-virus may also stop supporting Windows 7
3. Most software will no longer support Windows 7
4. Man up dude and get Windows 10

I think is high time to stop procrastinating and searching the web on the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10. Upgrade to Windows 10 already to keep your PC running smoothly and securely.

I know a lot of people will miss Windows 7, so if you do, tell us your reasons for sticking with it for so long and what you will miss about it in the comment.
