More Than 100 School Pupils Feared Dead As 3-Storey School Building Colapses - Photos

Its a mayhem that Nigerians habe termed "black Wednesday" as 100s of school children were trapped under a school building after colapse. Parents of some children of a private school at Ita Faji, Lagos Island, are in tears after the school’s building collapsed on Wednesday, at about 10am.

The school which was situated on the last floor of a 3-storey building, suddenly collapsed trapping many kids in it. Prince Adams, a resident of the area who reported the issue to newsmen said at least 10 pupils had been successfully evacuated from the rubble so far.

According to him;

“It is terrible. Parents are crying. I can’t withstand the gorry sight,” he added.

Our correspondent heard cries on the background. Kehinde Adebayo, spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, while confirming the sad incident said emergency officials were working to ensure all the kids in the collapsed building are evacuated.
