Embattled CJN, Walter Onnoghen To Be Replaced by Justice Tanko Ibrahim Mohammed

Isn't a call for concern that all the key post in Nigeria is been headed by the Fulani? I maybe paranoid anyway. The Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Walter Nkanu Onnoghen has come under FG radar and will be docked in the CCT’s accused box on Monday. The FG accused the Justice of irregularities in his asset declaration.

Recall that the last high profile case handled by the CCT was against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, where-in the case was quashed for having no substance and basing its findings on hearsays. Onnoghen who upheld the verdict of the court, has today come under investigation and further litigation by the code of conduct Bureau.

According to Punditsng:

Following the inability of the ruling APC to secure the interest of Nigerians ahead of the 2019 polls, the ruling APC has resorted to rigging plans and also seeking legal backings for them. While the rigging plans are in full force with the recent appointment of Amina Zakari as head of collation, the APC-led FG also needs legal backing for their plans to fully materialize.

This is the reason why they have turned on Justice Onnoghen, who has been a clog in the wheels of their nefarious activities. President Buhari and his cabals are indeed trying so hard to illegally remove the CJN.

Earlier today, the Federal Government in a desperate bid to forestall democratic process on the countdown to Nigeria's Presidential elections, asked the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen to immediately resign as Head of Nigeria's judiciary over a very weak allegation of false asset declaration.

To further display their desperate tactics, the FG is planning to arraign the CJN before Justice Danladi if the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja.

Sources close to the CJN have revealed that the Chief Justice is unfazed by the theatrics of the Federal Government and will not resign, instead would rally the support of the body of benchers behind him and face the Federal Government which he is a part of, head on.

The Federal Government, led by a machiavelian Cabal within the Presidency have already named Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as the CJN's possible replacement.

A source has confirmed to reporters that the planned removal of the CJN is in line with the APC's long term plan to make all sensitive positions in Government especially the Judiciary Northern in order to control election tribunals which have become a ripple effect of elections in Nigeria.

Now regarded as an affront on Nigeria's democracy and an act of desperation, the planned arraignment of the CJN by the FG is a last trick in the book as an imminent defeat looms in the February 16 Presidential polls where the President's ruling party is not campaigning.

This tactic was once used to try and bully the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki over a period of 3 years where there were constant abuse on the institution of the National Assembly.

While Nigeria awaits a turn of events on Monday following the trumped up allegations of the FG, it would be interesting to see how Nigerians would react to this recent attack on the Institution of the Judiciary which is the last hope of the common man.

Upon this, lots of legal luminaries have volunteered to help the embattled Justice win the case. The cabals have however picked a favorite; Justice Tanko Muhammad, as the next Chief Justice of the Federation if their plans fall through.
