#OsunDecides: Singer Davido Reacts After INEC Declared Osun Governorship Election Inconclusive

As a writer and blogger, I'm loving this Davido more and more. He has done something most Nigerian musicians cannot do and this was done last during the time of Fela Anikulapo. Am talking about clear and wholehearted participation in politics. Then again, not all musicians have uncles that are politicians.

Popular singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, participated fully in the Osun State governorship election termed #OsunDecides and he has reacted to the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declaring the just-concluded governorship election in Osun State inconclusive.

His full participation is owned to the fact that Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke is the PDP, Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the election.

Suffice it to say, he even caused PDP not to have an embarrasing loss in this election by raising an alarm on social media when INEC erroneously or by design subtracted 1000 votes from the PDP during the collation from Ayedaade LGA which went viral instantly and sparked outrage on social media and led to INEC to quickly rectify the incident.

INEC said Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled about 254,698 ahead of Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who garnered 254,345 votes.

This decision followed cancellation of votes in Orolu Local Government, Ife South LG, Ife North LG and Osogbo LG resulting.

However, reacting, Davido who had earlier raised the alarm that INEC planned to declare the election as inconclusive because there were cancellations and violence in some polling units, assured that there would be victory at last.

He wrote, ”Desperate for Democracy, Victory is certain which ever way ..God’s plan issokay.”
