Chelsea FC Sets One Foot On BPL Title As They Beat Middlesbrough 3-0 In Standford Bridge

The Barclays Premier League Title is almost done and dusted as Chelsea FC only needs one more win from their 3 matches left to clinch the Premier League Title after beating Middlesbrough 3-0 in Standford Bridge today. Beating Middlesbrough today ensured that they are relegated from EPL.

One would have expected Middlesbrough to fight but they didn't put up any fight against Antonio Conte's side who can now become champions with victory against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Friday night while Middlesbrough must now contemplate a future back in the Championship after they were swept aside on Monday.

The Blues had already created a succession of chances before Diego Costa turned in man of the match Cesc Fabregas' pass after 23 minutes. And the contest was effectively over when Marcos Alonso scored at the far post via the legs of Middlesbrough keeper Brad Guzan 11 minutes before the break.

Fabregas created Chelsea's third which Nemanja Matic converted as the hosts laid siege to Boro's goal, with the final whistle bringing contrasting emotions. Tottenham was expected to pile pressure on Chelsea on Friday by beating West Harm and closing the gap to a point but they failed the litmus text as West Harm beat them by alone goal.

This means that Chelsea may clinch the BPL cuo on Friday before Tettenham have the opportunity to play again.
