Super Eagles Captain John Mikel Obi Confirms Chelsea Exit, Writes Open Letter to Fans


Super Eagles of Nigeria captain and Chelsea play-maker, John Obi Mikel has confirmed his move to Chinese Super League club Tainjin TEDA in an open letter to Chelsea fans. It is now 10yrs since the 29-year-old joined Chelsea FC and he has called time on his stint at Stamford Bridge to become the latest Premier League player who has made the move to China. 

Mikel joins Tainjin TEDA, who finished 11th in the Chinese Super League last season, on a free transfer as his contract with Chelsea was due to expire at the end of the season. During his time at Chelsea, Mikel won two Premier League titles, four FA Cup trophies and the Champions League in 2012.
