2018 World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria Humbles Algeria To A 3-1 Win

The Super Eagles of Nigeria provided a master class football today to defeated Algeria 3 – 1 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier played in Uyo, the Akwa-Ibom State capital.

Chelsea winger Victor Moses opened the scoring with a solo goal from the left and his play mate in Chelsea FC Mikel Obi added a second from a one on one position after referee failed to rule him offside in what is arguably an offside position.

Algeria responded in the second half, as Nabil Bentaleb scored a cracker from almost 35 yards after Riyad Mahrez had drawn Oghenekaro Etebo and Ogenyi Onazi out of position with some piece of trickery.

Victor Moses however stroke again to take Nigeria’s tally to three goals when he found himself free on the left to slot into the net As things stand, Nigeria lead their World Cup Qualifying group.

Nigeria 6pts,
Cameroon 2pts,
Algeria, 1 pt,
Zambia 1pt

Great football i must say.
